🚨 Seven Suspected Bandits Arrested in Kebbi as Police Launch Major Crackdown on Criminal Networks

Police Arrest Seven Suspected Bandits in Kebbi During Major Security Operation

Security Forces Tighten the Net on Criminal Networks

The Kebbi State Police Command has recorded a major success in its fight against banditry after arresting seven suspected criminals during a series of intelligence-led operations across parts of the state.

The arrests took place on June 5, 2026, following carefully planned operations aimed at disrupting criminal activities in the Soda Forest area and nearby border communities. Police officials described the operation as an important step toward improving security and protecting residents.

Three Suspects Arrested on Illo–Lolo Road

According to police reports, officers from the Mobile Police Force acted on reliable intelligence and intercepted three suspects travelling on a Haojue motorcycle along the Illo–Lolo Road.

Investigators believe the suspects were moving from the Soda Forest region toward nearby border communities to obtain food supplies allegedly meant for bandits hiding inside forest camps.

The motorcycle used during the journey was recovered by security operatives as part of the operation.

Four More Suspects Caught in Separate Operation

In another coordinated operation along the Bakin Ruwa–Ka’oje route, police officers arrested four additional suspects.

The arrests form part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to increase pressure on criminal groups operating within the area. Authorities hope that such actions will weaken support networks that help bandits carry out attacks and evade capture.

Investigations Continue

All seven suspects are currently in police custody while investigations continue.

Police investigators are working to determine the level of each suspect's involvement in criminal activities. Authorities are also examining whether the suspects may have links to recent security incidents in the state, including an attack that resulted in the deaths of three Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) personnel.

If sufficient evidence is established, the suspects will be charged in court after investigations are completed.

Police Commissioner Praises Officers and Residents

The Commissioner of Police for Kebbi State, CP Umar Hadejia, described the arrests as a significant breakthrough in the state's fight against banditry and violent crime.

He commended the officers involved in the operations for their professionalism, courage, and commitment to duty. The police chief also thanked members of the public whose timely information helped security agencies carry out the successful arrests.

According to him, cooperation between residents and law enforcement remains one of the most effective tools for combating crime.

Why Community Support Matters

Security experts often point out that intelligence gathered from local communities can help authorities prevent crimes before they happen.

When residents report suspicious movements, unusual gatherings, or criminal activities, security agencies are able to respond more quickly and effectively. This partnership has become increasingly important in areas affected by banditry and other security challenges.

Police Reaffirm Commitment to Public Safety

The Kebbi State Police Command has assured residents that it will continue carrying out intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and restoring peace in affected communities.

Authorities also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and continue sharing useful information with security agencies. They emphasized that all reports from the public would be handled with strict confidentiality.

As investigations continue, many residents will be hoping that the latest arrests lead to further breakthroughs and contribute to a safer and more secure Kebbi State.
